The Atlantic article made me miss my TI-83! That's really interesting though, and maybe at some point technology in general starts to slow down? We want computers to be smaller and smaller, perhaps the tablet is the end of the line.

But, I was thinking about this the other day (ever shifting technology) because my cell phone plans allows me to trade in my phone every two years at no cost. Should I do it because I can? There's nothing wrong with my cell phone, and I don't know what use it would be unless I donate it for someone else to use.

Back to Facebook, you're right. These changes just put them a shade on the non-creepy side. Will this be a constant dance - two steps forward, one step back?

Interesting. It appears the revised Facebook policy moves them just back to the acceptable side of the creepy line. But as with the rise and fall of the surf that's sure to change. Or is it? An article here which perhaps demonstrates that it is possible to freeze the technology pace (momentarily?). It hasn't been the death knell of TI yet but unlike Facebook they have a diversified product line:

This morning Facebook announced some changes to their privacy policy: http://on.mash.to/q2eDvw

I'm much more comfortable with having to approve tags in pictures, etc. so this seems like a positive change.
